Barcode Tracking
DataSpace (Scotland) operates a highly secure environment for the storage and control of clients valuable documents and data and all access is strictly monitored.
All items (archive boxes, files, media tapes, CD, DVD or scanned images) are registered to the DataSpace (Scotland) advanced records management and bar code tracking system.
All items entering the store are assigned a unique barcode identifier, which identifies it's type (box, file, tape, etc..) and it's unique ID. Client reference details are logged onto the records management system along with the barcode as an'alternate'identifier. This allows our clients to request items using either their own reference id for each item required, or the DataSpace (Scotland) barcode id.
Every barcoded item is placed & registered to a specific barcoded location, and this information is transferred to the records management system via hand-held barcode scanners using both wireless and docking station technology.
Any item can therefore be located within minutes and ready for delivery to the client by their chosen method.
Items may be retrieved from store by entire box/container or by individual file/tape as may be required by each individual client.
